Harmony

A rare home day today.
I seem to have a particular June colour scheme happening in my garden this week.

About ten years ago I got a new next door neighbour. I remember the day she moved in. I peeked over the fence nervously to check her out. When you live rurally who lives next door is incredibly important. If you live as I do in a semi detached cottage it becomes even more crucial that you live in harmony.

I remember her introducing herself. So far so good I thought.
Now here we are all these years later and popping in to check on her garden while she is on holiday I had a little chuckle.

This is her garden:

Our colour palettes for planting schemes are nearly identical. She too has recently become a paid gardener. We’ve become friends and share plants, ideas, watering, seedlings and a purple & green weakness.

Another harmonious moment, bending down to photograph my new Cerinthe Major ‘Rhubarb and Custard’ a eager bee joined us…at exactly the right moment.

Harmony. We are so lucky to share the same major interest in our lives, plants and bounce ideas off each other. I remember the first time we met, your delighted face as you pop you head over the fence and saw the massive pots I had brought with me, mainly my New Zealand tree fern. Great photos and nice memories it has evoked.
